Francesca Rowan Plowden
Francesca Rowan-Plowden is the director, and lead interior designer at Rowan Plowden Design Ltd, a 10 year old studio working predominantly with historical stately homes and private residential properties. Recent high profile projects include the renovation of Goodnestone Park into a world class wedding venue, Battel Hall on the Leeds Castle estate transformed into an exquisite luxury rental, and most recently the renovation of Kingshill farmhouse on the Elmley Nature Reserve.
This year Francesca also launched her own online homeware store FRP Homestore, with the mission to help people create their own dream interiors with a collection of carefully curated home accessories, soft furnishings, and furniture, both old and new, along with bespoke pieces from her design practice. She is also the founder of 'Design Havens for Heroes' a charity created during the early days of the pandemic in 2020 bringing together an inspiring community of talented interior specialists, to create ‘Haven’ makeovers for NHS key workers,
Her interior work has been featured editorially in many publications including Elle Decoration, House & Garden, Homes and Gardens, Country Life and the Sunday supplements and she is renowned for her engaged social media following across three Instagram accounts in which she offers interior design inspiration, tips and personal musings on life and living.
Francesca who trained as an actress at LAMDA and worked in theatre and film before going into the interior design industry, is mother to four boys and lives on the East Sussex coast where she is renovating her own beachside home.
